You're in the Current
The Energy
Does this sound familiar?
You've had a stretch of feeling really, really good. You know the one. Where everything was flowing, your energy was high, your clarity was sharp... you were thinking "YES. This is exactly where I've been working so hard to land." And then a day comes where something shifts ever so subtly. Like your flame got snuffed down to more of a smolder... still there, but lacking a little oxygen.
That's been showing up in my experience over the past couple of days through a combination of things I totally understand. My cycle. The full moon building this week. A few normal life things nudging me off my usual rhythm. Here's the humbling part though... even when you know exactly what's happening in your body, even when you have every tool at your disposal, there can still be that little voice that whispers did I lose it? And then the awareness kicks in. Oh. No. This is just the valley. I'm still on the path. Nothing is wrong. And yet here I am... feeling a little less sparkly for a blip. And that's okay.
Because here's what I know. The full moon in Libra this week has a way of bringing things to the surface. Not gently. Clearly. And sometimes that clarity feels tender, maybe even mildly discouraging, before it feels like freedom.
If you're feeling something similar right now... you're not broken. You're not backsliding. You're in the current.
And I mean that in every sense of the word. A current can be electrical, the invisible force moving through a circuit, giving everything its charge. Or it can be water, sometimes a gentle drift, sometimes a fierce pull, always moving, always going somewhere. Both have their beauty. Both have their purpose. The smolder isn't the absence of fire. It's fire doing something different. And you... are still in the current.
The Teaching
There's something I want to shout from the rooftops for the entire world to hear: "good vibes only" is harmful.
At best it's just noise. But really, it's a damaging narrative, one that quietly encourages stuffing, masking, and bypassing some of the most powerful moments available to us as feeling humans.
Feeling a low vibration and living at a high frequency are not opposite ends of a spectrum.
Deep Frequency Living isn't about maintaining a permanent state of elevation. It's about having the awareness and the practices to move through ALL of it. The high periods, the rough ones, and all the tender peaks and valleys in between. Especially the full moon weeks when your body is doing exactly what it was designed to do and your emotions are right there at the surface... practically begging you to feel them.
Here's the thing. The ancient wisdom traditions knew this. All of them. The Tao speaks of the valley spirit as eternal, of emptiness as what makes the vessel actually useful. You cannot have the mountain without the valley. The low isn't a deviation from the path... it IS the path. Pema Chodron calls that tender place the genuine heart of sadness, not weakness, but evidence of an open, awake heart. And the Yoga Sutras offer us this: the suffering that hasn't come yet can be avoided... not by bypassing what's here now, but by building the capacity to move through it cleanly. To feel it without getting looped in the story of it.
Science agrees, by the way. Human biology is cyclical by design. Hormonal shifts affect your nervous system, your emotional landscape, your available energy. When you understand why you feel what you feel, your cycle, the lunar pull, the season you're in, that awareness isn't separate from the practice. It IS the practice.
The low mood isn't the problem. Getting stuck in it is. And stuck is a body problem just as much as a mind problem. The mind builds a story. The nervous system runs the pattern. And without some kind of physical intervention the energy just keeps cycling... going nowhere.
That's where the work comes in. And that's what this week is really about.
The Invitation
So what do you do when you're in it?
You move. Gently. With intention.
Not to escape the feeling. To give it somewhere to go.
A few simple things I come back to when I need to shift the current in my own body...
Get in the sun if you can. Even ten minutes of natural light does something to the nervous system that nothing else replicates.
Heel drops. Stand, rise onto your toes, let yourself drop back down. Repeat slowly. One of the simplest ways to discharge stuck energy from the body. Your nervous system responds immediately.
Arm swings. Let your arms be loose and swing side to side, crossing the midline. This isn't exercise... it's energy moving through you.
Vocalize. Hum. Sigh audibly. Let sound move through your body. Your voice is an instrument you already carry everywhere. Use it.
Red light or a vibration plate if you have access. Even a few minutes introduces frequency to a stagnant system. The body responds to oscillation when the mind thinks it's stuck.
As little as ten or fifteen minutes. That's it. Not to fix anything. Just to let the energy move.
Because here's what I want you to remember this week as the full moon does its thing and life feels a little more tender than usual...
Stillness has its place. And sometimes your body just needs help moving what it's feeling. That's not weakness. That's wisdom. That's Deep Frequency Living.
Something new is already forming. You don't need to push it. Just be available for it.
Remember: you're in the current. And that really is a beautiful thing.
