Nothing and Everything is Perfect

01

The Energy

The self and the expander are definitely in cahoots this week. Wednesday the moon goes full in Aquarius. Directly across from her, the sun and Jupiter lock together in Leo. Whether you care about astrology or not, I've come to recognize that the body feels the cosmos and I share these insights simply as confirmation that these sensations are legit.

I've been feeling the energy this week as a stretchy discomfort glazed with excitement. Like something is being asked to grow past the edge of what's comfortable, and some part of me is thrilled about it before I've even said yes.

And then, right alongside that, waves of 'oh god not that'. The flinch. The part that would rather stay small and known than large and unfamiliar.

And then I asked myself, could I stop fighting the flinch and just let it sit next to the excitement instead of picking one? Underneath both of them is the same question. Not 'which one is right.' Just... how much of this can I actually let myself feel.

Which took me into the deep self-reflection I seem to love so much. Not away from the confusion, but through it. And what I landed on is an appreciation, a real one, for the perfection of imperfection. Not as a consolation prize. As the actual location of the aliveness that being in a human body, having the experience of struggle and discomfort, and getting to actually feel it provides.

Your relationship with yourself is literally everything. It's the whole practice. Imperfection is the entire point, not the problem.

So, under all that light of the celestial alignments, I'm asking myself the same things I'm asking you.

How beautiful can you allow it to be? How brightly can you let yourself shine?

The Teaching

Expansion doesn't feel like arriving somewhere better. It feels like more room, and more room is often uncomfortable before it's ever spacious.

We've been trained to treat imperfection like a problem to solve before the real living can start. Fix the body. Fix the relationship. Fix the career, the story, the self, and then, finally, begin. But there is no finally. There is no version of you that arrives finished and then gets to live. The living was always happening in the unfinished part.

Your body already knows this. It doesn't wait for you to be sorted out before it feels things. It aches before you've named why. It softens before you've decided to trust. It has never once required your permission to tell the truth - you just got used to ignoring it, explaining sensation away, or maybe even numbing it out.

And then there are the people. The ones who mirror back exactly what you haven't looked at yet. The friend whose boundary makes you furious because you have none of your own. The person whose ease with rest makes you itch because you've never allowed yourself the same. They are not the lesson. They are the reflection. What you feel in their presence is information about your relationship with yourself, not a verdict on them.

Expansion this week isn't about becoming more polished. It's about growing the capacity to hold what's already true. The unfinished body. The imperfect story. The parts of you that are still, always, evolving and becoming.

The Invitation

This week, when the doubt shows up, don't fight it and don't believe it either. Just get curious.

Next time you catch yourself spiraling into 'not enough' or 'not yet' or 'who do you think you are,' pause. Put a hand on your chest or your belly. Feel your feet if you're standing. That's it. That's the whole move. Not fixing the thought, just coming back into the body, the somatic experience, underneath it.

Then ask, quietly: what is this discomfort actually pointing at? Not what's wrong with me. What's trying to expand.

And when someone irritates you this week, before you build the case against them, try this instead. Ask what they're mirroring. What part of you feels that same ache, that same boundary you haven't set, that same rest you haven't allowed. You don't have to like the answer. Chances are you won't. Just let yourself see it.

You don't need to arrive anywhere by any given day. You just need to keep choosing to feel it instead of managing it away. Last week we talked about being a heretic, one who is able to choose. Let this practice build on what you've already cultivated. And be okay with your perpetual work in progress.

What in you is asking to be seen exactly as it is, unfinished, imperfect, and still worth all this light?

Some of what's stirring this week doesn't have a name yet. Not burnout, not a phase, not just hormones or stress or getting older. A threshold. The biggest identity crossing of your adult life, arriving with no ritual, no elder, and no permission to stop long enough to feel it.

Your body isn't the obstacle in that crossing. It's the only thing still trying to tell you the truth.

If that's landing for you right now, I built a free 13 minute audio practice, sound and breath, to help name what's actually happening instead of letting it get swallowed and called something smaller than it is. You don't have to translate this alone.
